Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 September 2026. This policy explains what Signature Generator ("we", "us"), operated by SUN MEDIA BRANDS LLC, does with your personal data. We follow the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

1. What we collect and why

  • The name you type into the generator. It is rendered in your browser. If you request the transparent files or a designed draft, we also process it on our servers and, for designed drafts, send it to our image model provider (see section 3). Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) UK GDPR).
  • Your email address, if you request transparent files. We use it to send you the link to your download area and transactional emails about your files and orders. The first click on the link confirms your address. Legal basis: contract.
  • Marketing emails only if you tick the box. You can unsubscribe with one click in every email or on your download page. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) UK GDPR, PECR reg. 22).
  • Order data (package, answers to the style questions, amount, Stripe references) when you buy a package. Legal basis: contract and legal obligations (accounting).
  • Technical data such as your IP address, browser and timestamps, used to protect the service against abuse (rate limits, spam) and to keep it running. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).

2. Cookies

We use no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics on the public pages. A session cookie is used only in our internal administration area.

3. Processors and third parties

  • OpenAI (image and vision models): the name you enter and the generated images are sent to OpenAI to create and check the designed signature drafts. OpenAI processes the data on our behalf and does not use API data to train its models.
  • Stripe (payments): your payment details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and never reach our servers. We receive your email, the amount and payment references.
  • Postmark (email delivery): sends our transactional and, with your consent, marketing emails.
  • Hosting on servers in the European Union. Our operator is based in the United States; where data leaves the UK, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and standard contractual clauses.

4. Retention

  • Free files and designed drafts stay in your download area for 12 months after your last visit, then they are deleted.
  • Purchased drafts stay for 24 months after purchase.
  • Order and invoice data is kept for the period required by tax law.
  • Raw generated images that were not selected are deleted after 30 days.
  • If you ask us to delete your data, we do so within 30 days, except where we must keep it by law.

5. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to [email protected]. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

6. Security

Your download area is protected by a long random link. Do not share it. Files are served only through that link and never from a public folder.
